Angel Duran – Shipping Assistant
Where are you from?
Chicago, Illinois
What led you to Loma Vista Nursery?
I was looking for a new opportunity and it seemed like a great new opportunity.
What did you do before you came to Loma Vista Nursery?
I was a Medicare/Medicaid broker.
What do you like best about working in the green industry so far?
I think the unpredictability of every day.
What are you looking forward to learning or experiencing most in your time here at Loma Vista Nursery?
To learn more about plants and also how to work with brokers and the ins and outs of shipping plants.
Do you have a favorite plant?
Not yet – but I’m sure I will once everything starts blooming.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to spend time with my family and friends. Very big on learning new things to cook, as well.
What makes the green industry different from other industries?
I think I’ll definitely have a better answer once we pick up, but for now it’s how we have to be very observant of plants and make sure we are shipping quality plants.

Bailee Davis – Propagation / Grower in Training
Where are you from?
Maize, Kansas
What led you to Loma Vista Nursery?
I was familiar with Loma Vista Nursery from my time at K-State and it felt like somewhere kind of close to home where I could learn a lot.
What did you do before you came to Loma Vista Nursery?
I was an intern at the Overland Park Arboretum and a student at K-State.
What do you like best about working in the green industry so far?
The plants!
What are you looking forward to learning or experiencing most in your time here at Loma Vista Nursery?
I am looking forward to learning a lot and getting to work with plants.
Do you have a favorite plant?
Yes, any Nepenthes!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to read and collect houseplants, mainly aroids and carnivorous ones. I also have two red-eared sliders and four rats that I keep as pets.
What makes the green industry different from other industries?
I love how much I get to interact with nature and the outdoors in comparison to other industries.
