Meet Angie, our Shipping Assistant

Introducing: Angie

Angie is our shipping assistant, who started working with us in May of 2016. She juggles numerous responsibilities to keep our plants shipping out on time and in top quality.

“My favorite part of the job is getting to see all the plants we are shipping out when I do the initial quality and count check,” she explains. Each spring, Angie loves to peek outside and see the shipping dock full of colorful plants.

Her Roots

Originally from Queens, New York, Angie grew her interest in plants from yearly trips to the Queens Botanical Garden. Her favorite plants include Hydrangea ‘Pistachio’ and Little Henry® Sweetspire.

Today, her landscaping is simple and easy to maintain. She has boxwood, itea, buddleia, daisies and coreopsis within her yard.

In her free time, she enjoys watching Netflix and spending time with her active and energetic 2 year old.

Loma Vista Nursery, more than just plants

A day in the shipping office never looks the same. Angie works to create pull lists, print plant tags, take the initial quality control, count inventory, hire trucks for deliveries, print paperwork for drivers and call customers to confirm deliveries.

In the peak shipping season, Angie plays a vital role in keeping orders shipping out in large quantities. Although overwhelming, each spring Angie helps to keep the orders going throughout the Midwest.

“Angie is flexible, easy to work with and very good at her job. Her understanding of shipping routes, load sizes and drive to make sure that the customer is getting the best experience are just a few of the things that make her a great team member,” President Lyndsi Oestmann says.
