Helping customers find the perfect plants is just the beginning of Kurt’s job. Since starting with us in December of 2015, Kurt has played a vital role in expanding our customer base.
“I enjoy that each day can be something different. The job is a great mix of outside and inside work and I love being able to help customers get what they need,” he says.
Currently, Kurt works to maintain customer satisfaction and fill orders while demand is high on plant material within the industry.
“It has been tough to supply everything you want to for every customer. We’ve been blessed with loyal customers and the ability to expand production to counter our growing industry,” he explains.
Kurt is a Kansas native with roots in Lawrence. He studied business at the University of Kansas and his favorite plant happens to be the state grass of Kansas, Little Bluestem.
When asked about his favorite plant, Kurt explained, “There are so many different varieties with great colors throughout the growing season. Little Bluestem is a very hardy grass and requires little to no maintenance.”
In his free time, he is an avid golfer. He enjoys cheering on his daughter at softball games and son at bowling matches.
“Kurt is always willing to go the extra mile to provide first-class service to our customers, and make sure the sales operation at the nursery runs smoothly. It is great to have him on the team,” President Lyndsi Oestmann says.
